A Life shared within, with a multi personalities community.
Approximately 1.5% of people are diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder. This condition typically develops in childhood as a safety mechanism, where children hide away from the trauma they face. This is often caused by family and close family friends. Other causes are extreme bullying. Although it falls within the DMS 5 diagnostics mental health category, it is not technically a mental health condition, neurological or physiological.
People living with this condition are best placed to teach us what it is like to live with an inner community of personalities. Below is a video by Maggie Walters who is someone living with this condition, providing insight. Each person living with DID have their own experiences as unique individuals.
